ON A SUMMER NIGHT, Mustafa, met his wife, Daniela, when two friends independently forced them to go out. "We had no idea how that night would change our lives forever," said Daniela, "I am certain that if our friends did not convince us to go out that night to that specific place our lives would have never crossed paths."

The couple got engaged while on vacation in Cabo, Mexico. Mustafa walked around the resort with the ring in his pocket, waiting for the perfect moment. "One night, unbeknown to me, the ring fell out of his pocket onto the couch right in front of me, but thank goodness I did not notice!"' said Daniela. "Later that night he got down on one knee and everything around me seemed to stand still. He stared into my eyes and told me that he wanted nothing more than to be my husband and grow old together."

Their wedding was a blend of their Italian and Persian cultures. They played traditional Italian and Afghan music, had Afghan dancers perform and received henna on their hands for good luck. The wedding ceremony took place at the Mill Neck Manor and featured family members. The godmother of the bride read a passage, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, and the sister of the g room read the poem, "On Your Wedding Day."

Eight bridesmaids, seven groomsmen, two ring bearers and one f lower girl walked down the aisle as a violinist played throughout the procession. The maid of honor wore a champagne 'Jessica" gown, designed by Walter Mendez. The bridesmaids wore champagne dresses by Jim Hjelm, and featured a sweetheart neckline, gathered bodice and lace cap sleeves with a keyhole back. Bridesmaids and the maid of honor carried dark plum and lily flower bouquets. The groomsmen wore Calvin Klein slim fit suits with suspenders, black bow ties and a dark plum lily flower on their lapel.

The bride wore a Galia Lahav mermaid style gown with a low back. It was covered in lace with a touch of sparkle throughout. She also had a cathedral veil with wide lace trim and appliques of lace in the center, also designed by Lahav. Her ivory closed shoes had a beautiful embellished broach on the back of the heel and gold soles. The groom wore a Black Label Ralph Lauren tuxedo with suspenders, a white bow tie and an orchid flower on his lapel. The bridal bouquet of orchids paid homage to her family-with Daniela's flowers wrapped in a piece of lace from her mother's wedding gown. She also attached a broach, with pictures of her grandfather, grandmother and godmother, who had passed, and pinned pearl rosary beads to her bouquet. "My favorite memory of the day was walking down the aisle with my arm interlocked with the arm of my first love, walking toward my soon-to-be-husband who was anxiously staring back at me," said Daniela.

The reception took p lace in the Bellagio ballroom at Larkfield, located in East Northport. The color scheme was white and gold with light hints of mauve and dusty rose. Ivory sashes were intertwined into each chair and then draped onto the floor, giving the room a romantic look. Centerpieces were a combination of orchids, roses, and greenery on tall gold candlesticks. Some tables had a low bouquet of flowers to match the tall standing arrangements and were surrounded by three low gold candlesticks.

The DJ and percussionist from Ll Sound had everyone on the dance floor. "Dancing with all of our friends and family was truly memorable. The energy was like no other and everyone had a smile from ear to ear." Guests dined on crab cakes, salad, penne ala vodka, and had a choice of rack of lamb, filet mignon, stuffed chicken, teriyaki salmon, shrimp oreganata or eggplant parmigiana. Dessert included a full Viennese hour with pastries, cakes, cookies and specialty stations including make-your-own sundaes and cheesecake.

The wedding cake was a beautiful five-tiered round cake filled with cannoli cream and strawberry custard. The entire cake had fresh ivory and dusty ivory flowers cascading down each layer.

The couple honeymooned in Thailand for two-and-a-half weeks. One of their biggest adventures was visiting Tiger Kingdom where they got to hug and take pictures with beautiful animals. "Talk about a check off the bucket list," exclaimed Daniela.
